New Delhi-10 March: The Delhi unit of the Association of Muslim Professionals organized a special event in Shaheen Bagh, South Delhi, to celebrate the successful completion of four years of India Zakat. The program witnessed the participation of prominent personalities and social leaders from Delhi & National Capital Region (NCR) . Farooq Siddiqui, the keynote speaker who is the National Head of NGO Connect & AMP National Core Team member, shared information about the community and social development efforts undertaken by India Zakat Platform over the past four years. He highlighted that through 64,000 donations in the last four years, approximately 19 crores were raised on India Zakat, benefiting more than 35,000 families. It’s noteworthy that all donations on the India Zakat platform are in real-time, visible to donors & public at any time.
Farooq Siddiqui emphasized that India Zakat primarily focuses on providing assistance in education, healthcare, self-employment, scholarships, women empowerment & relief work. He explained that through this platform, special support is extended to orphaned children, Ulemas and madrasas under special campaigns. Responding to a question, he mentioned that the highest number of causes on this platform are related to education, benefiting thousands of children in completing their education.
During the event, Altamash Mohammad, the Delhi Head of AMP, efficiently conducted the program. Mirza Mobin Beg, a senior member of the NGO Connect team, welcomed all guests at the beginning of the program. The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Maulana Aqleem Raza Misbahi.
Ashraf Bastawi, a member of the Executive Committee of the Press Club of India and a senior journalist (Asia Times), expressed his admiration for the work of AMP, stating that he has been closely observing and reporting on AMP’s activities for many years. He praised the commendable focus of AMP on education and employment assistance across the country, benefiting thousands of youth.
All the guests present at the program openly praised the work of AMP. Notable attendees included Anwar Khursheed, Azad Subhani, Dr. Aftab Alam, Adnan Ahmed, Monu Khan, Sheikh Jilani, Faizi, Azharuddin, Advocate Aftab Fazil, Saim, Imran, Shahnavaz, and others.
